Saturday night was a simply tasty evening. Asa stayed home with the babysitter. Liz and I went to Walgreens! lol well we did. We really went out to eat at a place called Kona Grill. It's an asian fusion eatery. Like PF Chang meets Cheesecake Factory or something. Sometimes I think there's prolly just one parent company churnin these places out anyway.
Heres a review of the place that shows some pics of the food and what the inside looks like.
FOOOOD
We ate a Las Vegas Roll which was kinda like your basic cali roll but with more crab, and it had an outer layer of fried tempura. All of it was laying in an eel sauce with small stringy onions on it and seasemeeez. Next up was a Rainbow Roll. Again like a cali roll with crab, but with few diff types of fish cuts draped on top of them. Oh and some pot stickers dropped in there at some point. Yum! For our main entree, Liz and I split a Roasted Asparagus salad. This was really good. The sauce they used just fit so well with the grilled asparagus, and they had this fancy cracker with some fancy goat cheese on it. The 50 min wait to eat was worth it. Total bill including wine was about 60 bucks.
Their desert menu didn't really scream out to us. Creme brulee and passion fruit sounded interesting, but yanevno. So we went for the sure thing which was Stone Cold Creamery just round the corner. Liz got the usual Mudpie Mojo which is a blend of coffee ice cream, peanut butter, almonds, and fudge. I tried something new called All Love No Oven which is cake batter ice cream, cookie dough, fudge and whipped cream. Wow, that cookie dough was the best dough I've eaten in a long time. I remember working at TCBY in college and locking myself in the freezer living off cookie dough for days! Ok maybe it was only 30 seconds or so, but it was really nice. Oh to be able to stuff my mouth with cookie dough again, like they were simply vitamins.
